Compared with the previous business outlook (announced on May 9, 2011), the Company recorded disaster losses due to the suspended operations of the Chiba Refinery mainly caused by the impact by the earthquake and extraordinary losses, such as losses on valuation of investment securities caused by the sluggish stock exchange market.
(The previous assumptions of a crude oil price of US$100.0 per bbl and an exchange rate of \82.5 per US$, the updated assumptions of a crude oil price of US$108.9 per bbl and an exchange of \79.8 per US$.)
