To reinforce a stable supply of petroleum, the Cosmo Oil Group has forged strong, long-term relationships of trust and cooperation with Middle Eastern oil producing nations. We are also carrying out independent oil exploration and production activities in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE), and in Qatar. Currently, we independently produce around 5% of our crude oil, but we anticipate that this figure will rise significantly as we progress with plans to expand oil production in Qatar and mine new oil fields in Australia.
The Cosmo Oil Group has been highly praised for successfully reducing greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent of 20,000 tons of CO2 per year through our Zero Flare Project. Zero Flare operations have been ongoing at our production bases in Qatar since mining operations were launched there in 2006.
